      COURSE DESCRIPTION 

      As businesses inch slip deeper into the age of machine learning and artificial intelligence, the strategic prowess, thinking calibre and courageous pursuit of human labour are going to become more and more coveted. Within this backdrop, it has become imperative for students and professionals to acquire training in providing their companies a worldwide perspective, quantitative as well as qualitative analysis, and display noteworthy problem-solving skills to increase revenue. A range of decisions led by executives determine a business’ strategy in the long-term, and this course will aim to guide students towards the best practices, tactics and tools to arrive at the best fit for their organisations, and above all, learn how to embrace change and capitalise upon it. 

      Enterprise strategy is rooted in « The Art Of War » and thus the game of chess is used for a game field illustration of the fundamentals of the subject matter. The objectives are implementing an effective corporate strategy and drawing from chess game strategies and tactics.

      Students will undergo training in finding disruptive, innovative and path-breaking ideas for their brands or companies, to tap into new opportunities but also identify accompanying threats in the midst of dynamically evolving technology and regulatory framework. Through case studies and simulations, students will discover leveraging environmental factors to further the growth strategy for a company at the same time unlocking potential within their internal frameworks. In addition to these skills of assessment, they will be guided to look outwards at how companies must strive to cater to customer needs as an intrinsic part of enterprise strategy. 

      Learning Objectives:

      • Understand the basic concepts and functions in strategic management 
      • Understand organisational analysis with respect to change theory 
      • Ability to find business solutions leveraging latest technology 
      • Identifying the Strategic position for a company vis a vis its environment 
      • Conduct industry and value chain analysis 
      • Analyse product specifications, customer needs and customer management to increase revenue 
      • Building and sustaining competitive advantage in hyper competitive conditions 
      • Creating value through diversification 

      Prerequisites: minimum TOEIC score of 650, MGT-10, 20, 30, SPE-110

      DESCRIPTION DU COURS 

      Les entreprises s’enfoncent de plus en plus dans l’ère de l’apprentissage automatique et de l’intelligence artificielle, les prouesses stratégiques, le niveau de réflexion et le courage de la main-d’œuvre humaine vont être de plus en plus convoités. Dans ce contexte, il est devenu impératif pour les étudiants et les professionnels d’acquérir une formation leur permettant d’offrir à leur entreprise une perspective mondiale, une analyse quantitative et qualitative, et de faire preuve de compétences remarquables en matière de résolution de problèmes afin d’augmenter les revenus. Une série de décisions prises par les dirigeants déterminent la stratégie d’une entreprise sur le long terme. Ce cours vise à guider les étudiants vers les meilleures pratiques, tactiques et outils afin de trouver la meilleure solution pour leur organisation et, surtout, d’apprendre à accepter le changement et à en tirer parti. 

      La stratégie d’entreprise est ancrée dans ” L’art de la guerre ” et le jeu d’échecs est donc utilisé pour illustrer sur le terrain les principes fondamentaux du sujet. Les objectifs sont de mettre en œuvre une stratégie d’entreprise efficace et de s’inspirer des stratégies et tactiques du jeu d’échecs.

      Les étudiants seront formés à la recherche d’idées innovantes et novatrices pour leurs marques ou leurs entreprises, afin d’exploiter de nouvelles opportunités mais aussi d’identifier les menaces qui en découlent dans un contexte d’évolution dynamique de la technologie et du cadre réglementaire. Par le biais d’études de cas et de simulations, les étudiants découvriront comment tirer parti des facteurs environnementaux pour faire avancer la stratégie de croissance d’une entreprise tout en libérant le potentiel de leurs cadres internes. En plus de ces compétences d’évaluation, ils seront guidés pour regarder vers l’extérieur et voir comment les entreprises doivent s’efforcer de répondre aux besoins des clients comme une partie intrinsèque de la stratégie d’entreprise. 

      Objectifs:

      • Comprendre les concepts et fonctions de base du management stratégique. 
      • Comprendre l’analyse organisationnelle par rapport à la théorie du changement 
      • Capacité à trouver des solutions d’entreprise en s’appuyant sur les dernières technologies. 
      • Identifier la position stratégique d’une entreprise par rapport à son environnement 
      • Effectuer une analyse de l’industrie et de la chaîne de valeur 
      • Analyser les spécifications des produits, les besoins des clients et la gestion des clients pour augmenter les revenus 
      • Créer et maintenir un avantage concurrentiel dans des conditions d’hyper concurrence 
      • Créer de la valeur par la diversification 

      Prérequis: score minimum de 650 au TOEIC, MGT-10, 20, 30, SPE-110
