This course trains professionals to understand, diagnose, and improve how organizations function. Using a combination of classic frameworks and modern tools, you’ll assess real structures, cultures, and leadership systems to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities.

Day 1 — Foundations of Organisational Structure & Behavior

  • Types of organizational structures: functional, divisional, matrix, flat, networked

  • Reading org charts and understanding span of control

  • Fundamentals of organizational behavior

  • Culture types: clan, adhocracy, market, hierarchy (Competing Values Framework)

  • Informal systems: communication flows, power centers, decision-making styles

  • Workshop: Map your own or a known organization’s structure and behavior

Day 2 — Analytical Frameworks & Diagnostic Tools

  • McKinsey 7S Framework: Shared values, strategy, structure, systems, style, staff, and skills

  • Mintzberg’s organizational configurations: Simple, machine, professional, adhocracy, divisionalized

  • SWOT and PESTEL in organizational context

  • Root cause analysis using Fishbone (Ishikawa) and 5 Whys

  • Workshop: Perform a full 7S or Mintzberg analysis on a target org

Day 3 — Strategic Alignment & Transformation Planning

  • Diagnosing misalignment: symptoms and structural consequences

  • Linking diagnostics to strategic and HR interventions

  • Change readiness assessments

  • Designing a transformation roadmap: culture, structure, systems

  • Workshop: Present an organizational analysis case + recommendation plan
