Course Overview

Spreadsheets are still the most widely used business analysis tool in the world — but few users ever unlock their full potential. This Excel Workshop equips professionals with the skills to go far beyond the basics and create high-impact, dynamic workbooks that improve clarity, speed, and decision-making.

Day 1 — Core Excel Skills & Data Management

  • Navigating the Excel interface (ribbons, shortcuts, layout control)

  • Working with tables, ranges, and structured references

  • Basic functions: SUM, IF, COUNTIF, TEXT, LEFT/RIGHT, CONCAT

  • Sorting, filtering, conditional formatting

  • Removing duplicates, splitting text, parsing data

  • Hands-on: Clean and structure a messy dataset for analysis

Tools: Excel (Microsoft 365 or 2019+), sample datasets
Focus: Foundation • Functions • Data Cleanup


Day 2 — Advanced Functions, Analysis & Visualization

  • Lookup functions: VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP

  • Nesting functions: IF + AND/OR, SWITCH, IFS

  • Pivot tables: grouping, filtering, calculated fields

  • Dynamic charts and data visualizations

  • Using named ranges and structured tables for clean logic

  • Hands-on: Build a multi-sheet workbook with dynamic summaries

Day 3 — Automation, Dashboards & Excel for Decision-Making

  • Creating dashboards with slicers, timelines, and interactivity

  • Recording macros to automate tasks

  • Intro to VBA: working with buttons, user prompts, loops

  • Building KPI reports with real business metrics

  • Protecting workbooks, sharing templates, export options

  • Hands-on: Build a full dashboard with automated updates
